Went West, Found Love

Rays of golden hour light seeped through the Vowery windows and lush blooms softened every corner of the room for Westwood’s Went West Found Love styled shoot. Inspired by deep romance, drama, and atmospheric impact, the design of the project was to explore the halls of Westwood through an inspired lens. The finished estate is primed for storytelling, hosting memories and designs curated with intention and intimacy. Along with our talented creative partners, we welcome you to explore the daydream of Went West, Found Love
Storybook Blooms

The best event designs transport guests to a totally different space. Engaging every sense to bring you into the story: colors, taste, lighting, texture, all elements work together to build a unique atmosphere and enrapturing experience. For Went West, Found Love, we sought inspiration in the windswept romance and haunting beauty of Wuthering Heights. Specifically leaning into the allowances, modern interpretations, and anachronistic details of Emerald Fennel’s movie interpretation, our shoot explored the drama, intimacy, luxe design and overstated romance of this iconic story. Westwood Preferred Vendor, Lily Ever After, crafted florals that felt both untamed and luxurious. Soft blush blooms, hazy, layered greenery, and rich but playful textures grew from stone urns scattered across the Vowery’s stage and trailed across our tablescape.
Jen from Lily Ever After shared, “Florals play such an important role in shaping the emotional atmosphere of a wedding day because they help tell the couple’s story.” More than just décor, florals have the power to evoke feeling, set the tone, and bring a wedding vision to life in a way that feels deeply personal.

For this editorial, the floral design struck a beautiful balance between timeless romance and modern refinement. Reflecting a trend Jen is seeing among today’s couples, the arrangements embraced lush, organic styling with an elevated feel. Overflowing blooms and soft, cloud-like textures created a sense of effortless beauty, while layered florals added depth, movement, and a touch of drama that perfectly complemented the mood of the shoot.
Reimagined Stationary

At Foundations, we know that paper goods are far more than a practical detail. They are often the first chapter in a couple’s wedding story, and the lingering piece that stays with guests after your day is done. For this editorial, Bloom by Dany crafted stationery that perfectly captured the mood of the day: timeless, poetic, and deeply romantic.
As Dany shared, “Stationery is the first impression guests receive of a wedding. It gives them a glimpse into the style and feeling of the day while creating excitement for what is to come.” Long before guests see the venue, the flowers, or the carefully curated details, they experience the invitation suite. It sets expectations, creates anticipation, and offers a glimpse into the atmosphere awaiting them.

With refined typography, silky rope fringe details, and an aesthetic that felt both windswept and elegant, the stationery became an essential part of bringing this vision to life. Every piece felt as though it belonged within the pages of a novel, perfectly complementing the artful drama woven throughout the shoot.
Bridal Beauty

Of course, no bridal look is complete without the finishing touches, and for Went West, Found Love, we knew we wanted to find a unique way to marry playfulness, drama, and femininity. From tiny ribbons throughout wildly curly hair, to warm yellow diamond jewelry selects, every detail worked together to create a look that felt effortless, timeless, and perfectly suited to the atmosphere of the shoot.
Rather than competing with the dramatic architecture and moody romance of the setting, the beauty approach embraced a philosophy of understated elegance. Soft, glowing skin and natural features allowed the bride’s beauty to shine through while complementing the overall vision.
“With the amount of beautiful natural light that comes through Westwood, I love how her skin was able to be captured on camera, along with aspects of the building that was able to give a moody look to the shoot. Less was so much more when deciding how to do her makeup for this specific shoot.” – Nicole (Glam Lab)

That balance between light and shadow, softness and drama, became a defining characteristic of the editorial. Paired with an undone hair style that balanced elegance with ease and warm yellow diamonds adorning the model, the look felt both refined and authentic.
Epilogue
While each element of this editorial was beautiful on its own, the true magic came from how it all seamlessly worked together to tell a cohesive story. The romantic florals, thoughtfully designed stationery, timeless beauty styling, and carefully curated details each played an important role in bringing this “Wuthering Heights”-inspired vision to life.
Styled shoots are about so much more than creating beautiful images. They are an opportunity to showcase what is possible when talented vendors come together with a shared creative vision. Every detail, from the invitation suite that sets the tone, to the florals that transform a space, to the hair and makeup that complete the bridal look, contributes to the overall experience and feeling of a wedding day that we aim to portray in our styled shoots.

For couples planning their own celebration, these details serve as a reminder that wedding design is not built around a single statement piece, but rather through the thoughtful layering of many intentional elements. When each piece is considered with care, the result is a celebration that feels immersive, meaningful, and uniquely reflective of the couple at its center.
